Coburg night market in full swing

By Jamil Allouche

What will you be doing these coming Friday nights? If you're not entirely sure, why not check out the Coburg night market.

Until 18 December, the event will be held every Friday evening from 5.30pm to 10pm, meaning there's no excuse to miss out even if you finish work a little late that day. Furthermore, it's held in the Bridges Reserve, which is within short distance for anyone living in Coburg real estate and other nearby suburbs.

Let's take a gander at what you can taste and see at the Night Market this year.

Food and drink

As you might expect, there will be a strong range of flavours available that'll really please your taste buds. If you're after something hearty, pick up a feed from Burn City Smokers, which offers slow-cooked, American-style meat. Are you a fan of seafood? Then it's hard to go wrong with Mr Calamaro, which sells classic fried Calamari in a variety of ways, be it with chips or even in a burger. And if it's warm on the night, cool yourself down with a Paleta (Mexican ice cream) from the Chill Bro cart.

Arts and crafts

Finding Christmas gifts for your friends and colleagues never really gets easier, does it? One on hand, you don't want to have to resort to giving them cliche and predictable presents like mass-produced chocolate, stationery or, worse yet, socks. On the other, it can be tricky finding something both interesting and useable without breaking the bank.

Why not pick up a few pieces of unique hand-crafted items from the Coburg Night Market. There'll be plenty of stores up on the night, selling things like quaint pieces of jewellery, garden furniture and even pop-culture-themed greeting cards.
