This means you need to study up on the property market first, so you can ask them the necessary questions. They are there to support you with your property decisions but not pressure you into paying more than you want to. The key is to communicate exactly what you want from them.

If they are listening to you, then this is a good sign. Pay attention their advice in return but adhere to your gut feeling. Decisions that are made under pressure, especially when dealing with a lot of money, rarely work out in your favour.  Ask the following questions:

• What leads them to believe this is the right price?
• How does this price compare to average for the neighbourhood?
